I am a 35 year ministry veteran who enjoys talking about life and ministry over a cup of coffee. My ministry focus has been leading, coaching, and inspiring next generation leaders. So whether it is a seasoned youth worker in a church, a youth worker fresh to field of youth ministry, or a student leader at his/her high school who is just learning leadership; it is my passion to pour into them and to be used by God to encourage, equip, and empower these young leaders.
Years ago as a youth pastor in Dallas, TX, I came across a quote and put it on my refrigerator as a simple reminder to me as a leader. It said, “A great leader will allow others to go further than they can go themselves.” That simply meant to me as a leader, I needed to equip leaders to lead, but then I must release them to lead. For it is in the releasing where those I lead will be able to do greater things that I could ever do. So when I see this happen, I am thrilled when a leader I have sown into does things that I have not accomplished in my leadership.
